The Cost Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing cost estimates in support of technical estimation and/or should-cost analysis based on technical features, specifications, and the Bill of Material
- Proposing economic savings and optimizations during vehicle milestone reviews and cost target development
- Acting as an active cross-functional team member with Engineering, the Vehicle Team, and Purchasing—providing data-driven cost deltas to support target achievement and quote gap closure
- Assisting and supporting negotiations during component RFQs, change notes, and vehicle milestone activities
- Utilizing the company's methodologies, cost databases, and calculators to develop and deliver detailed cost analyses
- Supporting the company benchmarking efforts and contributing to Purchasing/Engineering commodity strategies
